A good restaurant experience appeals to all the senses. A meal is particularly enjoyable when the food tastes good, the odours are enticing and the location also features a magnificent view. We present Braunschweig’s top 5 restaurants with a special view.
#1: Flying high – the i-Vent
This is likely the highest bar/restaurant in the city and offers you a spectacular view across Braunschweig. And it’s no wonder, as it is located on the 17th floor of the i-Punkt high rise on Jenastieg. If the menu at the i-Vent appears to have a bit of Spanish flavour at first glance, that’s intentional. It offers all the delicacies you can enjoy on a Spanish holiday: a huge selection of tapas, meat and fish dishes, and of course genuine home-made paella. The fourteen-page beverage menu will make you thirsty too: it includes everything from classics to a varied selection of cocktails. An evening visit to the bar is particularly worthwhile, and you can enjoy the view of the region’s illuminated landscape from here every day starting at 5 p.m.

#2: View of the party strip – the Flamingo Rosso
A combination of an Italian restaurant, trendy cocktail bar and club, combined with a view of the nightlife on Braunschweig’s party strip – that is the Flamingo Rosso on Kalenwall. Pizza and pasta, fine cocktails from a menu that changes every month and hot rhythms that are perfect for dancing are offered high above the city’s roofs. The menu really whets your appetite as well: aside from the standards at very reasonable prices, some typical specialties of Neapolitan cuisine are also on offer. Special emphasis is placed on refreshing cocktails at the Flamingo Rosso. The barkeepers are highly creative and offer new drinks every month, for example the ‘Limoncello Spritz’. Special musical events are also featured regularly, including the ‘House Bar’, ‘Disco Bar’ and ‘80s/90s Bar’, just to name a few. The club is open to night owls on Fridays and Saturdays, when they can party here into the small hours of the morning.

#4: A view of nature – Cafe Teetied
Cafe Teetied is located in the midst of the Riddagshausen nature conservation area, one of the most beautiful in Lower Saxony. From here, you can enjoy a view of the surrounding lakes and forests. Far away from the noise of the city and car exhaust, you will find relaxation in a cosy, rural atmosphere with a cup of fresh coffee or fragrant tea. We would natural recommend a tasty piece of homemade cake along with your drink, also available to take away. The cafe’s owners host private family or club parties as well. After coffee and cake, a long walk is the order of the day, ideally combined with a visit to the nearby monastery museum of the Cistercian monks or the Haus Entenfang nature discovery centre.
